Who is responsible
Dutch.beer (Kunal Panchal), the Netherlands
E-mail: [email protected]
What we collect and why
- Newsletter: your email address, and the page you subscribed from. Basis: your consent. You can unsubscribe in every newsletter.
- Contributions and brewery claims: the details you enter in the form (brewery, city, website, notes) and, if you give it, your email address so we can reply. Basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the directory accurate.
- Brewery accounts on app.dutch.beer: your email address for the sign-in link, your role in a brewery workspace, the content you add (beers, menus, addresses) and messages you send to support. Basis: providing the service you asked for (contract).
- Analytics, only if you accept cookies: how pages are used (clicks, scrolling, page views, device and browser type, approximate location) through Microsoft Clarity, including recordings of sessions. Form fields are masked. Basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer.
- Anonymous page counts: we count views of brewery pages and clicks to brewery websites, without cookies and without storing who you are, so breweries can see how their page is doing.
- Server logs: our host processes IP addresses and request details to deliver pages and stop abuse. Basis: legitimate interest.
Cookies
Without your consent we only use what the site needs to work: a cookie remembering your language, a cookie remembering your cookie choice, and sign-in cookies on app.dutch.beer.
Microsoft Clarity is only loaded after you click “Accept”. It then sets its own cookies (such as _clck and _clsk) to recognise repeat visits. If you decline, Clarity does not load at all.
Who processes your data
We do not sell personal data and do not show ads. We use these services to run the site:
- Vercel (hosting)
- Supabase (database and sign-in for app.dutch.beer)
- Resend (sending contribution and sign-in emails)
- Substack (newsletter)
- Microsoft Clarity (analytics, only with consent)
Transfers outside the EU
Some of these providers are based in the United States. Where data leaves the EU, it is covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Contributions and claims: as long as needed to handle them and keep the listing correct.
- Brewery accounts: until you ask us to delete the account.
- Clarity data: according to Microsoft's retention periods (session recordings are kept for a limited time, about 30 days).
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or export your data, object to its use, or withdraw consent. Email [email protected] and we'll reply within one month. You can also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Breweries and public business data
Brewery listings contain business information that is publicly available, such as names, addresses, websites and beers. If you are a brewer and something about you or your brewery should be changed or removed, email us or claim your page.
Changes
We'll update this page when what we do changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
